January Blues
We are only in the second week of January and I already see friends on my feed who are struggling with disappointment. I have friends who already feel behind on their resolutions and already have expectations that have gone unmet. If you are in that boat, it’s okay! And you’re not alone!
Friend, take a few deep breaths. Spend some time in Scripture. Fill your day with your favorite things. (For me, it’s coffee and flowers and my pink electric blanket!) And remember there is grace upon grace upon grace upon grace.
At least, that’s what I’m doing! I’ve had more than one “depression day” this month, and it’s only the 10th! My natural inclination is to be frustrated and feel disappointed. After all, hope deferred makes the heart sick! (Proverbs 13:12!) But our God is a God of glory. He is a good God who strengthens his children in their weakness. He is a God who understands and empathizes and redirects!
So do your best to trust in Him this morning. Rejoice in who HE is and what HE has done and what HE is doing next! Give yourself a little grace. Then get back to work! Let the Lord help you #findyourjoy on this 10th day of 2019!
