The Greatest Thing You'll Ever Learn

May 01, 2019 by Reagan Baird in Lifestyle

Years ago, I saw this photo on tumblr and saved it to my computer. From time to time, when scrolling through my photos or organizing my files, I’ll come across it again.

This idea, that “the greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return” comes from a beautifully tragic movie musical that I adore (#MoulinRouge). And I think there is something to it—especially when in the context of our spiritual lives. (I love finding little nuggets of spiritual inspiration within a seemingly “non-spiritual” place!)

Anyway, the greatest things I’ve learned from the Lord are to love Him, love others, love myself, and be loved BY Him.

So I challenge you to meditate on love today! Are you loving others well? What does that look like? Are you taking care of yourself, acting in love instead of hatred? Are you living as though you are loved by your Creator and King? Because it’s true—you are indeed loved by Him! Do you love the Lord your God? Are you living like it?

This is what I’m pondering this evening, sweet friends. Feel free to join me.

Today, I’m meditating on my word for this year: balance.
